Property General/Large Loss Adjuster

What You'll Do: You will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle assigned claims involving property, farm owners, personal and commercial lines of insurance within an assigned local territory. As a Property General Adjuster, you will also handle large losses across the western or central part of the state. You will investigate the cause of the loss, interpret the policy, determine coverage, subrogation, reserve values and determine the value of the loss. In this role, it is very important to have a strong knowledge of insurance and tort law relating to property claims and expert use of Xactimate estimating software. You must keep a service-oriented attitude at all times by maintaining professional and productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, agents, agency managers, claimants, policyholders, engineers, restoration specialists, general contractors, attorneys, and others.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

  • College degree or equivalent is required. Experience is preferred. AIC, AINS and/or CPCU designations preferred.
  • Xactimate XM1 - Level 1 & 2 certifications are preferred.
  • Must keep up-to-date regarding legislation, statutes, rules and regulations in your primary state.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to work under all kinds of weather conditions and fully appraise all physical aspects of the property and buildings, which includes climbing on ladders.
  • Occasional travel with overnight stays are possible.
  • A valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Records are required.
  • Analytical, problem solving, organizational and excellent communication skills required.
