Description

Lee County's County Lands Department is seeking a motivated professional to become part of our team. As a Property Acquisition Assistant, you will play a key role in managing property files, supporting real estate transactions, maintaining inventory records, and keeping essential systems and data organized. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of administrative work, mapping/GIS tasks, and direct involvement in real estate processes. Duties and Responsibilities

What Youll Do

  • Manage administrative tasks related to property acquisitions, including filing, copying, mailing, and document preparation.
  • Support data entry, reporting, and document management within the Department Database and KWIKTAG systems.
  • Perform basic GIS tasks such as editing and creating schematic maps for property and inventory needs.
  • Represent the County at real estate closings and assist with simple acquisitions and dispositions (easements, licenses, etc.).
  • Close out acquisition files and index records in the KWIKTAG archival system.
  • Maintain and access KWIKTAG records, including documents from other departments.
  • Coordinate with County departments on maintenance needs for County-owned properties.
  • Maintain accurate real estate inventory records.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats.
  • Perform title research and abstracting.

Education, Experience, Licensing

What Were Looking For

Minimum Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Three (3) years experience in real estate, geographic information systems (GIS), administrative support, or closely related area

  • Valid Florida drivers license with acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

  • Familiarity with GIS or mapping tools, including map editing and interpretation

  • Knowledge of local zoning, land use, surveying, or Florida real estate procedures

  • Experience in title examination, abstracting, or related real estate research

Supplemental Information

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
