This role serves as a critical link between Operations, Land, and Accounting to ensure accurate accounting of operated and non-operated offshore properties, including cost tracking, accruals, and financial close.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESTrack and reconcile tangible equipment, including material transfers, yard balances, and valuation accuracySupport cash management processes, including AFE cash calls, partner billing, and related reportingAssist with the calculation of Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO), including the calculation of accretion expense and application of decommissioning costsSupport monthly and quarterly close processes to ensure deadlines and reporting requirements are metPreparing journal entries and maintaining multiple account reconciliationsMaintain compliance with SOX and internal control requirements, including documentation and testing supportCollaborate with Operations, Land, and Procurement/Supply Chain to ensure accurate cost classification, accruals, and asset trackingIdentify and assist implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of property accounting processesSupport joint interest accounting processes, including cost allocations and partner billings as necessaryEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE2+ years of property accounting experience at an upstream oil and gas companyBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSPossess strong analytical skillsAble to perform detailed work with speed and accuracyAble to organize and prioritize a dynamic workload involving detailed processes and time-sensitive prioritiesUnderstanding of upstream accounting principles, including AFE accounting, accrual processes, and operational cost trackingCommunicates effectively, both orally in person and using a telephone and in writingDemonstrates integrity and sound judgement in handling ethical mattersWilling to work extended hours as needed during month-end close, reporting deadlines, and other high-demand periodsSelf-motivated and detail-orientedProficient in Microsoft Office; experience in BOLO accounting system preferredCERTIFICATES & LICENSESThere are no certificates, licenses or registrations required for this positionPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEmployee must be able to sit for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion.
