Summary Objective
The purpose of this position is to manage and coordinate the development, administration, scoring and validation of pre-employment and promotional examinations and dimensional interviews.
This class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.
Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
Prepares examination items and creates questions for dimensional interviews.
Directs, controls, plans, schedules and scores examinations, and prepares eligibility lists.
Ensures written and oral exams are administered, scored and results distributed per labor contract procedures.
Examines and evaluates test results to determine test content validity and compliance with laws, court orders and professional standards.
Develops and applies ratings of training and experience.
Reviews literature for current standards and practices for test administration, and recommends modifications and improvements.
Analyzes and evaluates commercial pre-employment tests and proposals submitted by consultants.
Conducts training of members for dimensional interview panels.
Maintains and ensures confidentiality and security of examination and interview materials.
Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Must be a current, regular employee of the Louisville Metro Human Resources Department.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Psychology, Psychometrics or related discipline.
Four (4) years of pre-employment test construction, administration and validation experience.
