The Project Controls Specialist encompasses resources, procedures, and tools for the planning, monitoring and controlling all phases of the capital project lifecycle, specifically focused on design (architecture and/or civil engineering). The ideal candidate is skilled with cost analysis, budget management, accrual accounting, and procurement and brings experience from large capital improvement transit programs/projects. Responsibilities include budget development, cost and schedule management, risk management, change management, earned value progressing, and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist client and internal project managers with managing multiple projects through the entire development life cycle from concept including project management plans, contracting plans, risk registers
· Collaboration with all parties associated with the project to ensure it progresses according to plan, while working on several other projects simultaneously
· Support the development of monthly budget and schedule performance analysis
· Maintain comprehensive project document control using client designated systems
· Set up cost control systems to link accounting functions and track reporting of commitments, actual costs and forecasts according to project codes and work breakdown structure
· Provide project management team accurate and timely information to facilitate informed decisions and adequate time to take corrective or mitigating actions
· Ensure project elements adhere to the plan and approved changes are reflected in the project baseline and schedule
