Job Description:
- We are seeking a Program Manager RMTO Operations Safety Support to lead the operational execution of safety initiatives across a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- This role serves as the primary operational owner for safety execution, partnering closely with Operations Managers (OMs) and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams to ensure safety actions are effectively documented, assigned, tracked, and completed.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong presence on the production floor, excellent program management capabilities, and experience coordinating cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- While EHS owns safety policy, regulatory compliance, and program standards, this role is responsible for driving operational follow-through and ensuring safety initiatives are executed successfully.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Program Execution:
- Coordinate and drive execution of the RMTO Operations Safety Support Program across assigned production areas and shift structures.
- Serve as the operational owner for safety action execution while partnering with EHS on policy and compliance.
- Support Operations Managers by ensuring timely completion of safety-related operational tasks and corrective actions.
Incident Management:
- Support incident confirmation, documentation, and reporting using AUSTIN or equivalent safety management systems.
- Coordinate incident investigations, including:
- Fact gathering
- Timeline development
- Root cause analysis support
- Corrective action planning
- Ensure incidents are properly documented within required service-level agreements (SLAs).
Corrective Action Management:
- Partner with Operations Managers and EHS to define and assign RMTO-owned corrective actions.
- Track all assigned corrective actions through completion.
- Monitor aging or blocked action items and escalate risks appropriately.
- Maintain accurate documentation and closure records.
Behavioral Safety & Floor Leadership:
- Conduct behavioral safety audits using AUSTIN or equivalent systems.
- Identify unsafe behaviors in real time and provide immediate coaching and corrective guidance.
- Maintain a strong and visible presence on the production floor to reinforce safe work practices.
- Verify compliance with:
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Housekeeping standards
- PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) operating practices
- Operational safety requirements
Contractor Safety Management:
- Oversee contractor onboarding and safety readiness.
- Ensure:
- Competency verification
- Daily supervision expectations
- Required safety training
- 90-day performance and compliance monitoring
PSRM (Pre-Startup Risk Management)
- Coordinate and complete PSRM safety checklist execution before production startup.
- Ensure compliance with EHS-defined pre-production safety criteria.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with:
- Operations Managers
- Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
- Facilities
- Maintenance
- Engineering
- Learning & Development (L&D)
to resolve safety-related issues, remove execution barriers, and improve operational performance.
Reporting & Program Management
- Provide leadership with regular updates on:

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce safety incidents and improve operational execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Manufacturing
- Engineering
- Occupational Safety
- Environmental Health & Safety
- Industrial Hygiene
- Operations Management
- Or a related field
- 2 4 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Manufacturing Operations
- Safety & EHS Support
- Industrial Hygiene
- Program Management
- Production Floor Leadership
- Operational Safety Coordination
- Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will also be considered.

- Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) manufacturing.

- Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus.

Work Schedule
- Shift: 1st Shift
- Hours: Monday Friday | 6:15 AM 2:45 PM
- Overtime: 0 5 hours per week based on production demand
- Strong emphasis on punctuality and on-time shift starts.
Typical Daily Workflow
- Pre-Shift: Participate in safety briefings with Operations and EHS leadership.
- Morning: Conduct behavioral safety audits and follow up on incidents.
- Mid-Day: Manage contractor onboarding, competency verification, and PSRM activities.
- Afternoon: Perform floor walks, track corrective actions, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and provide end-of-day status updates.
- Priorities may shift throughout the day based on production needs and real-time operational issues.
Work Environment
- Fully on-site position.
