Project Mechanical Engineer, P.E.

A <\/span>Project Mechanical Engineer<\/span><\/b> shall be the engineer responsible for comprehensive facility mechanical designs and, at a minimum, have the following capabilities:<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/p>

• Understand advanced mechanical/HVAC theory/calculations, mechanical system components and devices.<\/span>
  <\/span><\/span><\/li>
• Engineer of Record for projects developed under their direction.<\/span>
  <\/span><\/span><\/li>
• Have the ability to review the work of others and give specific direction to the project team to further the design.<\/span>
  <\/span><\/span><\/li>
• Provide mentorship to associates with less experience and training.<\/span>
  <\/span><\/span><\/li>
• Have a working knowledge in Revit, AutoCAD, energy calculation, word processing/spreadsheet and other basic software to support setting up projects and assist in project flow.<\/span>
  <\/span><\/span><\/li>
• Extensive knowledge of codes, standards, and best practices and the ability to apply them within the mechanical design.<\/span>
  <\/span><\/span><\/li>
• Be able to develop calculations, design narratives and work plans to be used as the basis of design of mechanical plans, riser diagrams, and schedules.<\/span>
  <\/span><\/span><\/li>
• In depth understanding of the components of the electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems that will affect the design and be able to coordinate those discipline requirements into the mechanical design.<\/span>
  <\/span><\/span><\/li>
• Apply advanced engineering principles to solve technical and coordination issues.<\/span>
  <\/span><\/span><\/li>
• Manage projects and budgets with limited oversight.<\/span>
  <\/span><\/span><\/li>
• Attend internal and client coordination meetings with the ability to give direction, make technical decisions and ensure project goals are met.<\/span>
  <\/span><\/span><\/li>
• Perform site visits and investigation with little or no supervision.<\/span>
  <\/span><\/span><\/li>
• Nurture relationships with clients to foster additional work.<\/span>
  <\/span><\/span><\/li>
• Expectation of technical and management growth to assume a more responsible role.<\/span>
  <\/span><\/span><\/li>
• Take personal ownership of the work produced.<\/span><\/span>

  Requirements<\/h3>

  • Bachelor’s degree with P.E. (required), 4+ years of proven relevant technical experience (required), military training, field experience.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Experience working in a professional A/E office, Consulting Firm, Construction Contractor, or equivalent.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Ability to travel.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD<\/b>, photometric, word processing/spreadsheet and other basic software.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Strong written, verbal and communication skills with the ability to participate in a collaborative team environment.<\/span>
