We are seeking a highly experienced Part-Time Project Manager to serve as the designated Key Personnel and single point of contact for a critical U.S. Coast Guard shipbuilding support contract in Mobile, Alabama.
Position Summary
As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for all contractor work performed under the Performance Work Statement. You will provide senior-level program management oversight, ensure compliance with the Major System Acquisition Manual (MSAM), and coordinate support across SharePoint development, data management, documentation/administration, Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) / Earned Value Management (EVMS), Technical Support Management (TSM) deficiency records, and Contracting Officer Representative (COR) support functions. This is a part-time leadership role that requires strong organizational skills and the ability to deliver high-quality support in a fast-paced ship acquisition environment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for the Contracting Officer (KO) and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR)
Provide overall program management and oversight of all task areas, including SharePoint workflows/dashboards, documentation support, IMS/EVMS surveillance, TSM deficiency record management, and administrative services
Review contract deliverables, develop and maintain project plans, and assist in drafting acquisition documents
Ensure timely delivery of all required reports, metrics, data calls, and briefings
Retrieve weekly performance assessments from team members to support monthly invoice validation and documentation
Monitor and coordinate surge support during ship trials and other high-priority events
Attend meetings, track action items, and provide status updates to government leadership
Maintain full availability via telephone (0900–1700 CST, Monday–Friday) and respond to technical issues within 24 hours
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or minimum of 5 years of relevant experience directly supporting the PWS requirements
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a project management role
Demonstrated knowledge of ship construction and/or major system acquisition processes
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI, Outlook)
Experience with government contracting, program management, EVMS/IMS, and/or shipbuilding support is highly preferred
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
Physical ability to perform moderate walking and movement through an active shipyard and vessels under construction
