Role Overview: Project Manager

As a Project Manager at UIG, you will lead a dynamic team responsible for overseeing the execution of design-build transportation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will coordinate across multiple stakeholders, including engineers, subcontractors, and project partners, to ensure smooth project delivery from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Construction

• Assist in the development of Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) and Technical Proposal Submittals. • Work closely with Design Build Engineers and Joint Venture Partners to manage design schedules and budgets throughout the proposal and post-award phases. • Ensure that the design team meets owner requirements and push for innovative, cost-effective solutions. • Provide constructability reviews and feedback on design deliverables. • Lead and coordinate design-build team meetings to ensure alignment across all functions.

Project Execution

• Oversee subcontract negotiations and buyouts, ensuring compliance with project objectives. • Act as the Design Build representative during Right of Way (ROW) and Utility Company meetings. • Serve as the primary point of contact for subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment. • Ensure daily labor, equipment, tools, and materials are planned effectively and in alignment with project goals. • Manage Foremen and Superintendents to ensure project milestones and safety goals are met consistently.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Toolbox Safety Talks are completed. • Hold teams accountable for safety protocols, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance and adherence to UIG Safety Manual guidelines. • Manage and ensure proper traffic management, lift planning, and rigging requirements are followed. • Oversee inspections, including equipment and utility locates, ensuring compliance with project specifications.

Financial & Resource Management

• Review and analyze cost-to-complete reports monthly. • Track and forecast manpower and equipment needs. • Ensure daily equipment inspections are completed and submitted. • Work with engineers to ensure accurate execution of plans and specifications.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree. • Basic abilities to use and/or learn MS Word, Excel, and COINS Systems. • Heavy Highway and Civil experience. • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. • Self-starter and ability to work unsupervised. • Team player and self-motivated to be successful. • Travel required. • Legally able to work in the US. • Valid Drivers License.
