Job Description:

Assist UF faculty members and staff members in presenting their architectural and engineering needs to the architects and engineers during planning and development of the drawings and specifications. Represents the Director of Construction and AVP of PD&C at planning and construction conferences. Conduct special studies and projects assigned by the Director or AVP.

Coordinate the requirements of UF with the needs of building occupants in the planning and design of new construction and major renovations.

Responsible for planning, designing, and monitoring the construction and alteration/renovation of UF buildings.

Train and develop PD&C Project Managers Level I and II responsible for project management duties, including project direction, project budget, accounting, contracts, negotiations, reporting, and paper processing. Work with the Director and Assistant Director of Training to develop new policies, procedures, standards, and divisional goals. Assist the Assistant Vice President (AVP) and Directors in developing an orientation program for new project managers. Provide guidance to Project Managers I and II in the project management process. Mentor and provide orientation/training of necessary PD&C policies, procedures, and document flow to Project Managers I and II in PD&C offices.

Work with the AVP and Directors to develop goals, policies, procedures, standards, and divisional goals. Ensure that goals are communicated and achieved. Assist AVP and Directors in developing contractual documents. Represent the AVP and/or Directors in their absence on behalf of PD&C.

Develops design studies, graphic presentations, including color renderings, illustrations, and 3-dimensional depictions related to project designs for presentation to user/clients and to UF Land Use & Facilities Planning Committee, Lakes Vegetation and Landscaping Committee, Transportation and Parking Advisory Committee, Preservation of Historic Buildings and Sites Committee, and other groups as needed.

Prepare architectural and engineering facilities programs for buildings and other physical facilities on the UF campus in such a manner that maximum usefulness to the design architect or engineer may be achieved.

Operate department assigned state motor vehicles on- and off-campus for project job

sites/meetings.

Perform other duties (as assigned).

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:

8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

Work hours and days may vary with assignments and workload.

May be on call during adverse weather conditions and available for evening and weekend meetings and events.

Expected Salary:

$90,000.00 to $100,000.00 Annually based on experience.

Required Qualifications:

Master''''s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor''''s degree and four years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, building construction, or a related field
  • Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional (AP) credential
  • License in field
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience with emphasis in institutional facilities and construction administration
  • Proficient in using Revit Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other computer applications for specification writing, project drawings development, image editing, and 3-dimensional rendering/animation presentations.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
