Position Title: Project Manager II – Warehouse Automation & Design Engineering

Position Description: Protingent has an exciting contract opportunity for a Project Manager with our client in Merritt Island, FL

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end project management for warehouse automation initiatives, including conveyor systems, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), robotics integration, and material handling equipment.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Coordinate with design engineering, operations, facilities, and supply chain teams to ensure project requirements are clearly defined and met.
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including statement of work development, procurement support, and performance oversight.
  • Track project milestones, identify risks and dependencies, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Facilitate design reviews, stakeholder meetings, and status updates to ensure alignment across all parties.
  • Ensure all projects comply with safety standards, building codes, and our client's quality requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by analyzing warehouse workflows and recommending automation and design enhancements.
  • Document project deliverables, lessons learned, and best practices to support organizational knowledge sharing.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in warehouse automation, facilities design, manufacturing, or industrial engineering environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project schedules, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of material handling systems, warehouse operations, and automation technologies.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive relationships, and influence without direct authority.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) or warehouse design/simulation software.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working in aerospace, automotive, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and their integration with automation equipment.
