General Atomics Aeronautical Systems

Job Summary:

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

We are a global leader in the design, manufacture, and delivery of advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) that push the limits of performance, safety, and mission capability. Our aircraft serve critical defense, research, and commercial missions worldwide. We believe that innovation thrives where precision meets purpose—and our facilities are the foundation that makes it all possible. From state-of-the-art R&D labs to operational airfields, we build environments where groundbreaking aerospace technology takes flight.

As one of our Facility Project Planning & Project Managers, you will be the driving force behind the planning, coordination, and execution of two-airport customer sell-off operations and cutting-edge R&D facility projects. You will ensure that our infrastructure, hangars, test areas, and operational spaces are ready to support mission-critical UAS programs—on time, on budget, and to the highest aerospace standards. Your work will directly enable our teams to deliver aircraft that meet the most demanding customer requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Lead the planning and execution of facility readiness for Desert airport(s) customer sell-off and test operations, including hangar facility planning/preparation, support building facility planning/preparation, master site planning, ground support equipment allocation, and operational workflow design.

+ Prepare and present facility plans, budgets, reports, and proposals to senior management.

+ Oversee facility projects supporting R&D operations—such as lab build-outs, prototype assembly areas, and specialized test environments.

+ Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using MS Project or Primavera, coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, flight test, and facilities teams.

+ Manage contractors, vendors, and internal resources to ensure timely delivery of construction, modifications, and equipment installations.

+ Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, FAA regulations, and safety protocols in all facility projects.

+ Track budgets, forecast resource needs, plan and track facility maintenance and report progress to senior leadership and program stakeholders.

+ Identify and mitigate risks related to facility readiness, operational safety, and project timelines.

+ Serve as the liaison between facilities, Flight Operations, and program management to align infrastructure with program milestones and ASI Operations business objectives.

We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.
