PURPOSE

Under general supervision, oversees various systems projects of a highly complex nature, assembles project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides project management oversight and direction to ensure overall success of large, highly complex, multi-platform initiatives by developing appropriate project implementation plans that may include scope, goals, scheduling, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management.

Estimates resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and determines the need for additional staff and/or consultants and makes appropriate requests for additional personnel.

Plans, schedules, and tracks project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using appropriate tools.

Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentation.

Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzes results, and troubleshoots problem areas.

Collaborates to develop and appropriately executes a communication strategy, including stakeholder analysis, ongoing communications, and adoption plans.

Negotiates with department managers when necessary regarding the support of required personnel within the company to ensure project continuity through completion.

Seeks opportunities to improve productivity, cost containment, and improve project performance.

Manages relationships across organization and divisions to develop a thorough understanding of core business functions and align project with overall business objectives.

Conducts quality assurance audits in support of project quality plan, including project post-mortem assessments, and suggests improvements in process or procedure.

Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers, attends periodic safety meetings as required, and may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Four (4) years of experience in system analysis, programming, and/or project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle with experience in Java, J2EE, HTML, JSP, XML, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Windows, AIX, Enterprise technologies, Web applications, portals, and collaboration sites
