Position Overview ----------------
The position of project manager positions plans, directs, coordinates, or budgets through estimator and foreman activities concerned with the construction of heavy-highway projects. This position participates in conceptual development of a construction project and oversees its organization, scheduling, and implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities -----------------------------
• Works with superintendents and foremen to plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with site construction projects. • Establishes project objectives, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications. Confer with superintendents and foremen to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems. • Initiates and maintains liaison with contractors and other contacts to facilitate project activities. • Monitors and controls project through administrative direction of on-site foremen to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget. • Investigates potentially serious situations and implements corrective measures. • Represents company in project meetings and attends strategy meetings. • Works with Estimator and Vice President to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect companys interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with customer. • May requisition supplies and materials to complete project. • Interprets and explains plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients. • Formulates reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, and scheduling.
Education and/or Experience ---------------------------
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering • Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
Preferred PE License Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required ---------------------------------------------
• Able to communicate proficiency to all levels of employees • Mathematical Skills • Mechanical Knowledge • Leadership Skills • 3-5 years experience in project management • Teamwork • Must be able to travel occasionally
