Kimley-Horn has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced engineer for heavy civil infrastructure (mechanical) to join our growing surface water team in Sarasota, FL. The successful candidate specializes in civil and/or mechanical engineering.
Responsibilities
+ Assist with the management and leading of civil infastructure projects
+ Develop full sets of drawings and technical specifications without guidance
+ Perform design calculations, plan production activities, and prepare project document submittal packages, while maintaining a Quality Control program for the entire project
+ Lead and provide support for construction phase efforts on heavy infastructure projects
+ Support and participate in meetings and presentations with clients, contractors, and design team members
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field, required
+ Professional licensure as a P.E. in Florida
+ 8+ years of diversified mechanical engineering experience
+ Marketing experience including scopes of work, fees and budgets, and schedules
+ History of providing technical design and planning in the areas of heavy infastructure work including hydraulic lift systems, electric/drum and cable, etc
+ Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
+ Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
+ Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
+ Demonstrated ability to manage projects and tasks profitably
+ Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines
+ Strong technical writing and communication skills
