The Project Manager will assist in planning, directing, and coordinating activities related to the construction of structures, facilities, and/or systems. Position interacts with college staff, contracted design firms, contractors, and state and local authorities to carry out the college's vision as it relates to facilities in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner. Position provides guidance in procedures and methods required by the NC State Construction Office and NCCCS Capital Project division.

Example of Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating activities related to construction of structures, facilities, and/or systems.
  • Assist in oversite of construction and scheduling of capital projects to ensure the project is constructed in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner.
  • Participate in project stakeholder activities to assist in the design discussion of construction projects and/or renovation projects.
  • Assist in evaluation of project specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
  • Assist in ensuring the project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices.
  • Assist in the inspection and review of construction projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
  • Make recommendations regarding contracts and revisions as well as changes and additions to contractual agreements.

Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations N/A
