Examples of Duties

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $41.97 - 49.84

The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.

  • Manages, inspects, and coordinates operating and capital projects for the Facilities Management division.

  • Coordinates work of consulting engineers, contractors, other municipal departments and governmental agencies.

  • Prepares construction contracts and bid packages, advertises bid opportunities, schedules and facilitates pre-bid meetings, coordinates with design consultants to issue addenda and requests for information.

  • Assist FMA in administering the current CMMS for Public Works including the daily management of tasks in the system.

  • Maintain and expand the current CMMS preventative maintenance system to include dailymanagement tasks and the addition of new equipment and schedules.

  • Assist FMA in assessing, troubleshooting, and resolving customer requests for service for the Facilities division. Responding to emergency requests as needed, on call as needed.

  • Assist FMA with overall operation, inspection, and troubleshooting of various life safety systems including fire alarm control, sprinkler, generator/UST, security, card access, and video surveillance systems.

  • Provide training in processes, systems, and best practices including proficiency in facility management, applicable laws, and governmental regulations. Maintains a thorough knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

  • Performs a variety of management functions in support of the Public Works team, and assists with management of County-wide initiatives and processes including condition assessments, ADA compliance, quality assurance, and deferred maintenance.

  • Performs other duties and services as delegated by immediate supervisor, serves on a variety of committees and provides technical advice, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and five years of related experience and experience in Facility Management, Business, Industry, or Government institution preferred.
  • Valid drivers license

Special knowledge, abilities, skills, physical requirements, and other factors: Strong general computer skills, good analytical ability (problem solving ability), Microsoft Word/Excel. The ability to read, comprehend, and transmit complicated detailed instructions in writing and orally.
