Where You Will Work
Our Collaboration Hub in the Warehouse District of New Orleans, Louisiana, serves as an important location for our global support groups, including investor relations, finance, engineering, marketing, communications, and information technology. Employees in New Orleans mostly follow a hybrid schedule where they collaborate virtually and may be required to attend occasional in-person meetings or training. The Hub is located inside a beautiful historic building and provides office space, meeting rooms, kitchen and dining space, phone booths, and technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration. New Orleans is a popular tourist destination known for its rich history, architecture, cultural arts, music, and cuisine. Many great hotels, galleries, restaurants, and museums are a short walk from the Hub.
What You Will Do
This position will lead a team of CAD Designers and Drafters focusing on implementing CAD best practices across a portfolio of projects. Shape the strategic direction of engineering projects from initial concept through to final execution. Champion design excellence and foster a culture of innovation and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. Manage, lead, train and mentor a team of designers promoting continuous learning and improvement. Provide direction, training, and coaching to ensure that the team can execute efficiently. Direct team members on project prioritization. Establish design objectives and technical specifications in alignment with project goals and timelines and ensure design quality and consistency across all projects. Coordinate design reviews and updates with department leaders for all projects. Establish, document, implement and continuously improve CAD standards of practice. Participate in front-end project planning, contribute to Project Execution Plans, and drive project CAD setup activities. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and quality assurance protocols. Coordinate the addition or removal of design resources with the engineering department leads for all projects. Evaluate skillsets of new personnel prior to project mobilization. Collaborate and design procedural interfaces with other disciplines. Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets related to design activities. Educate engineering personnel on software functionality to ensure engineering practices align with design best practices. Work with software vendors to resolve technical issues.
