RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Apply principles and techniques of engineering, metallurgy, and metal finishing to accomplish goals in a fast-paced environment within the semiconductor industry. 
  • Lead carrier development projects.  
  • Define processes to manufacture high-end carriers for semiconductor wafer processing (raw cutting, thinning, flattening, finishing and polishing, coating)
  • Work directly with internal decision-making stakeholders and outside suppliers / vendors to accomplish goals.
  • Complete detailed process step definition, supplier sourcing, process flow management to deliver a finished product.
  • Review and approve engineering work appropriate for the position.


BACKGROUND PROFILE:

  • 10+ years of high-end metal finishing (superfinishing, fine lapping, flattening) and engineering experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience
  • Proven judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Significant process development experience
  • Self-starting individual with a passion to solve problems and who will seek out assistance as required when issues or roadblocks arise
  • High level of understanding of metal finishing, metallurgy, and coating processes (i.e. PVD, CVD, DLC)
  • Extensive experience with reverse engineering
  • Clear and sound understanding of engineering documentation, both in creation and utilization
  • Experience in working with suppliers, vendors, etc. in product development and to resolve quality issues is required
  • Experience in manufacturing methods used in production of semiconductor consumables (carriers, templates) is required
  • Semiconductor industry experience is a plus
  • Experience with equipment utilized in manufacturing is required
  • Travel required as needed to interface with stakeholders, suppliers, and in-house process equipment across different sites
