POSITION DESCRIPTION

McGough is rapidly growing and improving its self-perform concrete capabilities, expanding market share in the Upper Midwest and building a repeatable business system to implement in new markets as McGough progresses its national growth strategy. Resulting from this growth, McGoughs Concrete Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the organization to lead projects to successful outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: Four-year degree in Construction Management or related degree
  • Required: 5 years of related experience specifically including concrete self-perform projects
  • Demonstrated experience building strong partnerships and trust with external partners, including owners, representatives, design firms, and subcontractors
  • Preferred experience with estimating and field experience
  • Preferred experience with scheduling

OFFICE AND TRAVEL

  • Various jobsites, corporate & regional offices
  • In addition to regional meetings, overnight travel may be involved

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Pursuit Preconstruction and Business Development:
  • Assist pursuit team in understanding prospective projects and requirements
  • Research prospective clients
  • Assist pursuit team in completing responses to RFQs and RFPs
  • Participate in pursuit interviews
  • Assist with and participate in preconstruction meetings
  • Project Management:
  • Provide management and leadership to ensure successful completion of projects
  • Understand project-specific workforce and vendor participation goals and incorporate into project work plan
  • Understand McGough Self-Performed Work
  • Assist with quantity take-offs and estimating labor, production, materials, and equipment
  • Gather information or assist with labor and project forecast preparation and reporting, including production tracking
  • Assist with creating Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for work
  • Estimating & Bidding Management:
  • Review estimates prepared by project managers and estimating
  • Lead estimate presentation to owner/design team
  • Review proposed subcontractors prior to presenting to owner
  • Final review and sign subcontractors
  • Scheduling:
  • Assist field staff with creating CPM scheduling
  • Work closely with field staff to update and distribute schedule as needed
  • Co-lead Last Planner efforts in conjunction with field staff
  • Project Documentation:
  • Review and understand all drawings and specifications
  • Lead the project document page turn reviews
  • Manage the Request for Information (RFI) process and work with the design team to get timely responses
  • Manage the shop drawing/submittals review process and work with the design team to get a timely turnaround
  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings
  • Manage project sustainability requirements and documentation
  • Understand the requirements of our owners contracts as well as subcontracts
  • Subcontract Management:
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of what is included in the subcontractors scope
  • Review and process subcontractor change requests
  • Negotiate pricing
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices
  • Assist superintendent with manpower and personnel requests
  • Schedule and document pre-installation meetings
  • Project Meetings:
  • Attend all project and company safety meetings
  • Attend and participate in weekly work plan meetings
  • Conduct and provide timely documentation for construction coordination meetings
  • Participate in start-up meetings and prepare documentation in conjunction with field staff
  • Provide monthly project forecast reports
  • Attend pre-installation meetings and mock-up reviews
  • Post Construction:
  • Perform pre-punch with an aim at providing a zero-item punchlist
  • Oversee the punchlist process
  • Support the close-out team in gathering final as-built plans and documentation
  • Review project close-out documentation for accuracy and completeness

OTHER DUTIES

  • Actively contribute as a member of the team, collaborating to support shared goals and objectives
  • Engage in business development by building and fostering relationships with clients, design teams, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Pursue new relationships with potential clients and design firms
  • Represent McGough professionally at all events, upholding company standards and serving as a positive ambassador
  • Attend company and project meetings, pursuing ongoing personal and professional development to enhance skills and performance
  • Collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders to ensure cohesive project execution
  • May perform functions of PE or Asst PM as necessary for the project
  • Actively support and participate in Lean events and standard of work, promoting the McGough Way and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and project success

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Base salary range: $95,000 to $130,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses
  • Final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience
