We are looking for a Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee commercial building projects in a general contracting and construction management environment with full ownership from preconstruction through closeout. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving project execution, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. This position plays a key role in successfully managing multiple projects while collaborating with field teams, subcontractors, and clients to achieve exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Oversee commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, and procurement plans throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead project meetings with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and project alignment.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and submittals to ensure project requirements are fully understood and executed.
- Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements, change orders, and vendor relationships to support successful project delivery.
- Monitor project costs, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain profitability.
- Coordinate closely with field leadership to resolve construction challenges and maintain project momentum.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, building codes, safety standards, and quality expectations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and client updates throughout each phase of construction.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects.
- Experience working for a commercial general contractor or construction management firm is required.
- Demonstrated success leading projects from preconstruction through closeout with direct ownership of project execution.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, contracts, and change order management.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Proficiency with construction project management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Commercial construction experience is required; residential-only project management experience will not be sufficient.
