Job Details

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle project management of BESS + substation packages from NTP through COD
  • Manage EPC contractors, OEMs, and key vendors (BESS integrators, substation contractors, HV equipment suppliers)
  • Oversee HV interconnection scope (collector substations, switchyards, transmission tie-ins)
  • Drive schedule (P6/MS Project), budget, and risk management for projects often exceeding $50M+
  • Coordinate across internal teams (development, interconnection, finance, asset management)
  • Review engineering deliverables, equipment specs, and construction plans
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead project reporting to senior leadership and investors
  • Support contract negotiations, change orders, and claims management

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of experience in utility-scale renewables, power delivery, or energy infrastructure
  • Strong experience with BESS projects and/or substations (HV/MV)
  • Background managing EPC or owner’s rep scope on large capital projects
  • Familiarity with interconnection, grid tie, and commissioning processes
  • Experience with tools like Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore, etc.
  • Engineering background (EE preferred); PE or PMP is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
