These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Duties:
To serve as the parks Project Manager responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the design and construction of facility and infrastructure projects that enhance visitor experience while protecting natural and cultural resources. The position ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with National Park Service standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning, Development, and Execution
Plans, coordinates, and manages funded facility, infrastructure, and capital improvement projects from initiation through completion.
Develops project justifications, scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and funding requests while ensuring alignment with park priorities, development plans, and regulatory requirements.

Contract and Consultant Management
Manages contracted services for planning, design, engineering, construction, inspection, and related project support.
Assists Contracting Officers with scopes of work, task directives, and assists the Contracting officers representative by reviewing deliverables against contract terms.

Compliance, Quality, and Risk Management
Ensures projects comply with applicable federal laws, NPS policies, building codes, safety standards, and environmental and cultural resource requirements.
Monitors project quality, identifies risks, resolves issues, and implements corrective actions as needed.

Coordination, Communication, and Stakeholder Engagement
Coordinates with park leadership, Facilities Management staff, administrative staff, contractors, partner agencies, and other stakeholders.
Provides project status updates, responds to internal and external inquiries, and supports public and political coordination related to project activities.

Provides technical guidance and oversight to staff performing related project functions, supports development of procedures and best practices, and performs other related duties as assigned in support of Project Management.

Physical Requirements:
Work is generally performed in an office setting, with occasional fieldwork involving moderate risks of construction operations. Travel to project sites will be required and may involve driving a vehicle or walking. Some projects are in undeveloped areas including mountain terrain. Projects may occur during inclement weather such as rain, snow or high temperatures and may occasionally be scheduled at night.
