Title: Project Manager Automation
Location:Simi Valley, CA
Job Description: Seeking an experienced Project Manager Automation to lead industrial automation and machine-building projects from concept through commissioning. The ideal candidate will manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and cross-functional teams while ensuring successful delivery of automation systems, special purpose machines (SPMs), robotics integration, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end automation and machine-building projects.
- Lead cross-functional teams including Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain.
- Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate design reviews, supplier activities, fabrication, assembly, installation, FAT, SAT, and commissioning.
- Monitor project progress, risks, costs, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering standards, and safety requirements.
- Drive engineering change management and maintain project documentation.
- Support proposal development, project estimation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5 7 years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing automation, special purpose machines (SPMs), robotics, or capital equipment projects.
- Proven experience managing mechanical automation projects from concept to commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of machine design, GD&T, DFM/DFA, manufacturing processes, pneumatics, hydraulics, and material handling systems.
- Experience with MS Project and project management methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder, and supplier management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
- Experience with robotics integration, Industry 4.0, Smart Factory, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APQP, and automated assembly systems.
- Knowledge of conveyor systems, tooling, fixtures, and production automation solutions.
