Pay Rate: $88/hour on W2

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager 3 / Construction Manager to lead and oversee construction project execution at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).
This role is responsible for the successful delivery of construction projects in a high-hazard nuclear environment, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
The position requires strong leadership, technical construction expertise, and the ability to manage complex, multidisciplinary teams in a highly regulated setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage all aspects of construction project execution
• Provide technical direction and administrative oversight for:
o Field construction activities
o Project teams and site personnel
• Ensure safety and security are fully integrated into all work activities, including stopping
work when necessary
• Review and manage:
o Project estimates
o Budgets and forecasts
o Schedules and cost performance
• Evaluate:
o Construction specifications and drawings for construct ability and efficiency
• Coordinate across:
o Project Management
o Engineering
o Procurement
o Project Controls
• Resolve issues related to:
o Staffing
o Material delivery
o Contract/subcontract administration
• Support development and review of:
o Project procedures
o Operational controls
• Lead project planning activities including:
o Scheduling
o Resource planning
o Cost estimation
• Staff and manage construction site teams, ensuring:
o Performance
o Quality
o Technical adequacy
• Monitor field execution and ensure adherence to:
o Procedures
o Safety standards
• Serve as a Control Account Manager (CAM) as needed, including:
o Cost and schedule management
o Variance analysis
o Corrective action planning
• Present project updates, performance metrics, and issues to:
o Senior leadership
o Federal sponsors

Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field OR
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
• Typically requires 15+ years of experience in:
o Project management
o Construction
o Engineering
o Project controls or procurement
Project & Program Management
• Demonstrated experience managing:
o Scope, schedule, and budget
o Change control and reporting processes
• Proven ability to:
o Lead complex, multidisciplinary teams
o Deliver projects under competing deadlines
• Experience with:
o Project planning tools and methodologies
Construction & Technical Expertise
• Extensive knowledge of:
o Construction operations and quality
o Subcontract management
o Construction technologies
• Experience in:
o Construct ability reviews
o Cost and schedule analysis
• Familiarity with:
o Facility construction and maintenance systems
Compliance & Safety
• Strong understanding of:
o Government compliance standards
o Environmental regulations
• Experience working under:
o Nuclear quality standards (e.g., NQA-1) preferred

Required Qualifications (Deal Breakers)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance
• Must be a U.S. Citizen (required for clearance eligibility)
