Project Leader, Finance - Private Brands

The Project Leader Finance - Private Brands Finance is responsible for delivering financial analysis and insights that support day-to-day financial operations and key strategic initiatives across the Private Brands portfolio. This role partners closely with cross-functional business leaders to drive financial performance, enable informed decision-making, and ensure strong financial stewardship.

The Project Leader operates with a high degree of independence and ownership, applying strong analytical and strategic thinking to lead complex analyses, translate financial results into clear business insights, and influence outcomes that support enterprise objectives. Project Leaders are expected to flex across a broad set of finance capabilities to meet evolving business needs.

Project Leaders may perform a wide range of finance capabilities, including but not limited to the following:

Finance Operations Support Manage ongoing financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement analysis.

Analysis and Evaluation of Projects and Investments Evaluate and manage financial aspects of key strategic projects, providing insight into project viability, funding, and risk management.

Presenting to cross-functional leadership Consistently provide financial results and recommendations to a variety of business partners and finance leadership.

Data Analytics Apply advanced analytical techniques to financial data, enabling predictive insights, trend analysis, and strategic forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

40. PROJECT CONTROL

    • Develops an effective plan for controlling project scope, schedule, and cost, and monitors project execution to ensure that the plan is being followed.
    • Creates and effectively coordinates documentation to explain changes or potential changes to the baseline, and ensures the approved changes are implemented.

41. PROJECT COMMUNICATIONS

    • Develops an effective plan for communicating project information to the project team and to the project stakeholders.
    • Develops written status reports and scorecards, and creates and presents project review documents to senior leadership.

42. PROJECT RISK ASSESSMENT

    • Leads the definition of project risks and the required mitigation approaches.
    • Monitors project activities for the occurrence of risks and takes timely action to escalate or mitigate the risk.
    • Advises project team members and stakeholders of actions required or completed.

43. PROJECT LESSONS LEARNED

    • At the completion of a project or project phase, captures key lessons learned and communicates to peer Project Leaders.
    • Effectively applies lessons learned in subsequent projects.

44. PROJECT ENVIRONMENT

    • Shares responsibility with the project leadership for providing a good working environment.
    • Ensures teams are staffed, duties and responsibilities are understood by everyone, and that an inclusive environment is maintained.

Travel Requirements

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position, and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Proven ability to curate and present data effectively. Demonstrated agility in learning and adapting to new technologies and tools. Strong focus on delivering accurate output by meticulously checking work before submission to ensure high-quality results. Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in verifying and building upon existing data and information. Proficiency in translating analytical insights into visual formats, including the ability to create clear, compelling graphics and sequence data to effectively tell a story and emphasize key points. Adaptability to organizational changes and the ability to transform to meet evolving business needs.
