Service Construction of Illinois, Inc. is currently looking for a Estimator. Ideal applicants must have a well-rounded background in residential construction/remodeling, as well as a basic background in commercial construction. Ideal applicants must also possess the following characteristics:


  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in residential construction and remodeling
  • Applicants must have in-field experience with self-performed work
  • Have an understanding of all trades
  • Have an understanding of building codes and ability for find answers to building codes
  • Ability to secure professional ie: architect or engineers to resolve issues
  • Can walk through a jobsite and write up a detailed bid to submit to the potential client
  • Effective communicator with clients and employees alike
  • Possess excellent time management skills and can manage several jobs at one time
  • Problem solves to fix issues that may come up in the field
  • Create and update construction schedules
  • Write contracts
  • Assist in creating G701/702 and sworn statements
  • Review G701/702 and sworn statements
  • Review and process work change orders from subcontractors
  • Produce change orders for work provided by SCI services
  • Resource products and applications to meet owner or job needs
  • Thinks outside the box to create the best solution for a problem
  • Can draw out floor plans/prototypes to present to both the client and laborers in the field
  • Proficient in reading blueprints
  • Proficient in micro-processing/e-mailing/Microsoft products
  • Proficient in writing detailed scopes of work
  • Able to present clients with options for a project to give the client the best possible solution
  • Understands and executes the process for job permits
  • Makes themselves available “after hours” for meetings, emails, and phone conversations
