You will play a critical role in preparing and managing cost estimates for various projects, focusing on accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed project cost estimates, including conceptual, preliminary, and definitive estimates for new and existing projects.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to analyze project specifications and prepare accurate estimates.
- Perform value engineering analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain estimation tools, databases, and methodologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for potential project uncertainties.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Track project costs and variances throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferences:
- Internship or practical experience in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with cost estimation software and tools (e.g., PlanSwift, WinEst, CostX).
- Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
