Location: Chicago, IL, US and Darien, IL, USPosition Title: Project Engineering Manager – Industrial WaterCompany: Black & Veatch CorporationOpportunity Type: StaffRelocation: EligibleEmployment Type: Full-TimeAs the Project Engineering Manager for Industrial Water, you will manage the engineering component of multiple traditional, design‑build, design‑bid‑build, and collaborative delivery projects, including advanced treatment facilities, underground conveyance, and carbon neutral solutions. Your role will involve leading multidisciplinary teams, supervising staff, managing budgets and schedules, and communicating with clients and project partners.Key ResponsibilitiesProject ExecutionPrepare complex engineering deliverables for large or multiple projectsAssist in research to develop equipment and material recommendationsPrepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principlesDevelop and manage project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements across multiple disciplinesLead production teams, coordinate discipline activities, and serve as the responsible charge for a projectClient InterfaceIdentify key client interests and drivers for moderately complex projectsCommunicate client concerns to project team members and develop solutionsProvide support for business development or pursuit activitiesManage project changes directly with the client under Project Manager supervisionTechnical ExpertiseLead large multi‑discipline teams to meet project deliverablesProvide input to technical leadership for complex industrial water and wastewater treatment projectsDrive solutions to achieve project goalsManagement ResponsibilitiesReview lower‑level engineering work or assignmentsMentor and manage performance of assigned personnelPreferred QualificationsPE LicensePrevious engineering consulting experienceExperience executing multi‑discipline feasibility studies, design and construction for industrial water supply, treatment and discharge projectsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience in engineering workMinimum of 5 years related work experienceAll applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, which may include background checks, drug screens, and motor vehicle records searchesHolds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, if requiredWork Environment / Physical DemandsHybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days based on manager discretion and job performanceSitting, standing, or computer usage for extended periods of timeAbility to utilize video/audio conferencing software for internal/external communicationTravel to client sites as requiredSalary PlanRegistered Engineering (REG).
