    OverviewJob: Project EngineerDuration: 4+ MonthsThis is what you'll do:Responsible day to day builds activities including engineering activities and manage build configuration for Electric Power Electronics Conversion products such as inverter, on board charging and DC to DC converter. Manage build huddle and provide daily build status update to all stakeholders of the progress.Advises management status of work in progress, material availability and production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, and materials to meet build demand.Review Bill of Materials (BOM) from development phase and manage through the product life cycle, including identifying make and buy parts and revision control of parts.Evaluates custom build configuration to meet per operational system performance requirements, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.Collaboration with Design Release Engineers (DREs) to create prototype assembly instructions and build requirements for new product and existing products for each build phases POC, DV, PV, etc.Train technicians on assembly instructions, operate and troubleshoot equipment per build process.Capture builds related issues in JIRA system and resolve issues with DREs and prototype team using 8D problem solving techniques.Design assembly aid fixture for prototype build including use of CATIA, create drawings, and assembly of the fixture.Perform torque to fail study to define the required torque value for manufacture and update the assembly and route sheet.Tracking specific PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) inventory pedigree through build and release including:Receiving PCBA's, recording, and assigning each board serial number in build tracker inventory.Create traveler and move the PCBA to inspection and test.Coordinate with TPM for outsource conformal coating PCBA.Coordinate with DRE to perform PCBA rework per DCN.Job: Project EngineerDuration: 4+ MonthsThis is what you'll need:Minimum of 5 years recent relevant hands-on experienceBasic knowledge of low and high voltage safetyBasic understanding of ESD and clean room requirements per ISO standardsFamiliarity with basic shop fabrication and assembly toolsStrong analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure and very tight timelinesProficient with Microsoft office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, VisioBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related fieldPreferred Qualifications:Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with all company departments and customersKnowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, MRP, KanBan, and Just-in-Time (JIT)Knowledge or experience in product prototype or high-volume production builds and working with technicians/assemblersKnowledge or experience in creating work instructions, rework process, and developing production intent processesKnowledge of mechanical drawings and Electrical schematicsKnowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5Proficient with CATIA V6 software including part design, assembly design, and draftingAlways maintains a positive and proactive attitudeKnowledge of PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) including:Troubleshooting circuitInspection of PCBA per IPC 610 standardsRemove and apply conformal coatingCut trace, solder components, and add jumper wires per DCNPCBA fabrication process from bare board to board populationSeniority levelEntry levelEmployment typeContractJob functionEngineering and Information TechnologyIndustries: Motor Vehicle ManufacturingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at eTeam by 2xGet notified about new Project Engineer jobs in Torrance, CA .Locations and compensation examples shown in the original description may vary by area and time.We're unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
