    Description

    RK&K is currently hiring Structural Project Engineers to join our growing team. As a member of our Structures team at RK&K you will play a pivotal role in the design and analysis of transportation structures. You should have local state DOT and municipal experience, be highly proactive, able to develop creative technical solutions, have a strong understanding of structural operations and hands‑on experience with bridge design.This role may be performed remotely or from one of our office locations. Candidates based in approved U.S. locations are encouraged to apply. Office locations can be found at www.rkk.com/locations.Essential FunctionsUtilize expertise in structural engineering principles to design bridge structures that meet project requirements and adhere to regulatory standards.Perform structural analyses utilizing industry‑standard software tools such as MicroStation, Leap Bridge Concrete, AASHTOWare BrR, Open Bridge Designer, or similar programs.Develop detailed design drawings for construction.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage bridge projects from inception through completion.Coordinate with contractors and regulatory agencies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.Maintain rigorous standards of quality and compliance with relevant codes and standards throughout the design and construction process.Conduct thorough reviews of design calculations, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and safety.Cultivate strong relationships with clients by understanding their needs, communicating project progress effectively, and providing innovative solutions to address their challenges and requirements.Required Skills and ExperienceMinimum of 4 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on bridge design and transportation projects.Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on Structures.Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain within 6 months.Familiarity with applying industry standards including local DOT Standards, AASHTO, LRFD, etc.Adhere to strict QA/QC requirements.Previous experience working with DOT, local municipalities and counties.Preferred Skills and ExperienceMaster's degree in civil engineering.Experience with new and rehabilitated bridges, retaining walls, and other structures.Experience coordinating or participating with the Design Team and Contractor during project execution.Other DutiesThis job description indicates the general nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under ADA).
