We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to support a collaborative team in managing and delivering technically complex construction projects. This role works closely with a dedicated Project Manager and plays a key part in coordinating the technical aspects of projects, ensuring clear communication across internal departments, clients, architects, vendors, and trade partners. Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Project Manager with a wide range of project management tasks, including:
- Drafting and editing proposals, letters, subcontracts, change orders, and other project documentation.
- Supporting and maintaining project documentation such as RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, shop drawings, and other technical submissions.
- Participating in and coordinating meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders, including kickoff, BIM, and scheduling meetings.
- Contributing to estimating activitiesperforming takeoffs, soliciting vendor/subcontractor pricing, assembling bid packages, and preparing change orders.
- Assisting with jobsite oversight and quality control as needed to support project progress and troubleshoot installation or coordination challenges.
- Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate execution in the field.
- Supporting procurement efforts including vendor/subcontractor buyout, tracking, and delivery logistics.
- Participating in financial tracking such as labor forecasts, invoice reviews, billing preparation, and budget updates.
- Assisting with project closeout processes including O&M manual development, commissioning coordination, as-built documentation, and warranty management.
- Communicating regularly with the project team to identify, escalate, and resolve issues that could impact schedule or budget.
- Providing technical support for planning, design, value engineering, and alternate solution reviews.
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Performing other duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor or project leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Mechanical or related engineering discipline is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience or internship background in construction project support, coordination, or engineering roles.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Familiarity with construction software tools such as Bluebeam, Smartsheet, Box, BidTracer, FastEst, IFS, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow into advanced roles.
