Project Engineer

Job DescriptionJenike & Johanson is seeking a Project Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in engineering and consulting in our San Luis Obispo office. You will work on multi-disciplinary powder and bulk solids handling projects from technical concept through solution delivery to the client, with an emphasis on consulting and advisory work. This role blends technical project engineering with client-facing consulting work, weighted toward consulting.ResponsibilitiesServe as a technical advisor, communicate and present solutions to clients, evaluating processes and providing clear, actionable guidanceDevelop engineering solutions for client technical challengesProduce feasibility studies, conceptual designs, and functional designsCoordinate laboratory and pilot scale testing with powders and bulk solidsResearch solution approaches involving equipment configuration or process modificationsPerform calculations for flow and transport, and analyses using proprietary modeling technologiesContribute to the integrated team, partnering with business development and supporting less-experienced engineersTravel on a periodic basis to meet with clients, perform site visits, and visit J&J offices both domestically and internationallyQualificationsBachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering. Master's degree preferred3-5 years plant and/or engineering experienceInternal Candidates Only:Minimum 2 years of current experience within the J&J OrganizationConsulting or client advisory experience strongly preferredBasic CAD package familiarity, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorksExcellent design and problem-solving skillsMasterful written and verbal communication with clients and colleaguesAbility to adapt effectively when priorities change in response to business needsMust have valid driver's license and passport, or ability to obtain one#J-18808-Ljbffr
