Big-D Construction has an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our team of construction professionals based in Salt Lake City, UT.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive and review submittalsWrite and track RFIs and process or assist in change ordersPrepare and maintain meeting agendas and minutesMaintain construction drawings, provide marketing assistance as requiredAssist Project Manager and Superintendent with subcontract and schedule administrationKeeps up-to-date on construction drawings and as-builtsPrepare and manage procurement tracking logs to correlate with the project schedule and the demands of the projectKeeps up-to-date on submittals, RFIs and responses, project changes & work progress, especially items that could delay the project or cause a loss if installed incorrectlyMaintain electronic and hard copy project folders as requested by the project managerProvide up-to-date copies of drawings and specifications to subcontractorsQuality Assurance/Quality Control: Assist superintendent in verifying that all materials installed coincide with the approved submittalsEnsure that the project site and construction activities are documented in writing and especially in photosFile hard or electronic inspection reports, test reports, etc.Participate in the job closeout processMonitor and enforce safety and OSHA safety standards to maintain a safe working environment for all employees and site visitorsAssist the project manager in monitoring job cost reports, ensuring quantities and cost projections are accurate and subcontractor cost impacts to the budget are accounted forUnderstand the logic of a schedule and work with the project team to ensure the detailed construction CPM schedule is metAssist the project team to create, manage, and modify subcontract agreements and/or purchase ordersCoordinate with the project manager to track master subcontract agreements and ensure signed agreements are returnedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, or related degree2 to 4 years of related experience working on commercial construction projects (or equivalent combination of education and experience)Attention to detailA drive to build great projectsVisa sponsorship is not available for this position at this time.Benefits100% Coverage for medical and dental insurance for individual or family plansEmployer Contribution into an HSA401k with MatchLong-Term & Short-Term DisabilityLife InsuranceOther Supplemental BenefitsPTO & HolidaysAdditional Job InformationInterested applicants must submit their resume for consideration using our applicant tracking system.
