Job Title: Project Engineer
Job Description
This role offers an opportunity for a driven and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support field operations on a utility-scale solar farm project. You will work directly onsite with project management and field leadership to coordinate electrical construction activities, maintain high standards of quality and safety, and help drive project execution from start to finish. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in engineering or construction management who wants to gain hands-on experience in renewable energy and large-scale electrical infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in daily field operations and overall project execution on a utility-scale solar farm.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
- Assist in managing project documentation, including requests for information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, and drawings.
- Track project progress, schedules, and key milestones, and proactively identify and communicate potential delays.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and electrical plans to support accurate field implementation.
- Ensure work is completed in compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and safety standards.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities, inspections, and commissioning support.
- Monitor material procurement, deliveries, and onsite inventory to maintain continuous workflow.
- Assist with cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting to support project financial control.
- Support field problem-solving and drive resolution of technical or constructability issues as they arise.
- Maintain strong and consistent communication between field and office teams to ensure alignment and issue resolution.
Essential Skills
- Open to entry level individuals with an engineering degree
- Experience with electrical installation work in a construction or infrastructure environment.
- Knowledge of solar electric systems or solar farm construction practices.
- Hands-on experience with quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) in construction or electrical projects.
- Ability to perform electrical inspections and verify compliance with plans and specifications.
- Foundational project management skills, including scheduling, documentation, and coordination.
- Ability to read, review, and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and electrical plans.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and project documentation.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with project management, field leadership, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Problem-solving skills to support resolution of technical and constructability issues in the field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Educational background in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field.
- Interest in renewable energy and large-scale electrical infrastructure projects.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, field-based construction environment.

Work Environment
This position is primarily based onsite at an active solar construction project, working closely with field teams and project leadership. You will spend significant time in a field environment, including walking long distances, navigating uneven terrain, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role may require extended hours or weekend work depending on project schedules and milestones. You will operate within a construction site setting that emphasizes safety, collaboration, and continuous communication between field and office staff.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
