Overview
The Project Engineer is responsible for the installation and servicing of Audio Visual (AV) systems including, but not limited to, mounts and substructures, direct view LED (DVLED), LCD, Projectors, and other digital signage. The position requires the ability to lead a team of technicians, subcontractors, and partners.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for DVLED system installations, maintenance and servicing including but not limited to:
- Pulling and terminating cable at the equipment and rack
- Testing and verifying AV systems
- Fabrication, wiring, and testing of equipment racks
- Assuring the system installation is complete and is following system drawings and scope of work
- Restoring display performance when necessary following technical issues
- Serve as site foreman on projects, leading and interacting with the client, general contractor, and other trades to ensure successful project completion
- Develop and close out project punch list with internal and external customers
- Interact with clients in a professional manner that ensures a positive customer experience
- Train clients on the use of installed systems
- Train and mentor internal and third-party technicians and authorized servicers as directed by the Director Solutions and Service Operations
- Support sales and outsourced customer service center to address technical business issues
- Ensure accurate information is communicated to all vendors, customer service center, and sales team
- Maintain communication and correct data with Quality Control, Sales, service vendors, and customer service center to resolve technical issues
- Resolve Level 3 technical issues
- Submit technical reports to Quality Control managers
- Deliver pre- and post-technical support, including conducting pre-installation site surveys
- Collaborate with project managers on any technical issues
- Primary person to manage epidemic problems which may occur during installation
- Support Solution Installation of Open Peripheral, software, DVLED / LCD, and other supported Sharp products
- Use approved installation methods and techniques while following and maintaining company-assigned equipment inventory, tools, and safety procedures
- Provide regular status reports to project management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Technology, or Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or extensive work history in the electronic industry
- Minimum 5 years of field service experience with demonstrated ability to interact in a professional manner with external customers
- Proven experience in mounting structures and Audio Visual (AV) products using hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
- Demonstrated ability to follow directions, troubleshoot, and solve problems related to AV projects including but not limited to DVLED and LCD displays, projectors, matrix switchers, fiber extenders, extended display identification data (EDID), 3rd party controllers, etc.
- Established cable termination experience, (CAT 5,6, fiber, coax, etc.)
- Proven capability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines
- Strong computer literacy and verbal communication and follow-up skills
- Travel a minimum of 50% or as necessary to perform duties

Compensation for this position
The compensation range for this role is $90,000-$105,000. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
