Must live within 80 miles of the Southern California Metropolitan areaJOB SUMMARYThe Project Engineer (Field Services) is responsible for providing hands‑on technical expertise within the service delivery department, focusing on on‑site project execution and infrastructure deployment. The role collaborates with project managers, solutions architects, and other project engineers, while independently leading and delivering assigned projects. The engineer executes technical project work such as office moves, infrastructure installations, and endpoint deployments, and identifies and implements the technical needs of clients. When travel is not required, the Project Engineer will work remotely. The employee maintains a positive attitude and works with minimal management in a team environment, aligning with the company's core values and vision.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Project Engineer is a remote position with travel required; responsible for frequent on‑site work at client locations throughout the Southern California Metropolitan area.Act as a technical team member to implement and support technical solutions as required for client and internal engagements.Perform on‑site project work, including office relocations, infrastructure deployments, rack and stack, network hardware installations, and endpoint rollouts.Support project execution for other engineers by performing on‑site implementation tasks, cutovers, and deployment activities.Execute detailed project plans, runbooks, and standardized deployment procedures to ensure consistent delivery.Manage assigned projects from kickoff through completion, coordinating with project managers, scheduling tasks, and owning technical delivery.Provide real‑time status updates, identify risks, and appropriately escalates issues during project execution.Assist with site assessments and provide feedback to improve project planning and solution design based on field experience.Achieve an 85% billable utilization for overall time, including time for active client projects and professional service requests.Maintain at least a 90% CSAT score on delivered projects.Create, update, and maintain client information in the documentation system as changes occur.Provide exceptional customer service and timely technical expertise on projects.Track personal metrics on hours, scheduled vs. actual, and billable time percentage.Conduct network discoveries and client onboarding for new managed service clients.Submit proactive infrastructure upgrade or project opportunities to solution architects to enable a more productive, secure, and stable environment.Resolve client technical issues with minimal escalation.Adhere to and help improve service delivery procedures and company security protocols.Stay current with newest technologies and actively pursue certifications aligned with the service delivery strategy.Document all time worked within the ticketing system.Participate in the on‑call rotation as a technical resource.Perform any other duties required by the supervisor.The company reserves the right to add or change duties and responsibilities at any time.REQUIREMENTSExperience in multiple technologies, including physical and virtual infrastructure, networking components, and Microsoft environments.Minimum 3+ years of experience within relevant IT fields.Reliable transportation and valid driver's license, registration, and no disqualifying motor‑vehicle violations.Experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or IT Service Provider.Proficiency in configuring and managing network infrastructure such as firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and VPN technologies.Proficiency in configuring and managing enterprise infrastructure including Hyper‑V, VMware ESX/vCenter, virtual desktops, physical servers, and storage appliances.Experience with configuration and support of major Microsoft technologies including Entra ID, Intune, Office 365, Azure, SharePoint, Teams, and on‑premises operating systems.Familiarity with MSP tools such as Autotask PSA, Datto RMM, BCDR, BrightGauge, and Hudu.Familiarity with PowerShell and other scripting languages for application deployment, reporting, and automation.Familiarity with security technologies and risk‑management frameworks such as CIS, NIST, and SOC 2.Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, or related field preferred.Experience within the legal industry or legal technology preferred.Experience with virtual desktops, thin clients, AVD, DaaS, or Windows 365 PC.Ability to work effectively in high‑pressure project environments, including after‑hours and time‑sensitive cutovers.Current Microsoft and CISCO certifications desirable.Located within 80 miles of the Southern California Metropolitan area.QUALITIESDemonstrates professionalism, discretion, and good judgment in all interactions.Initiative and independence in work.Strong decision‑making, detail‑oriented, and outstanding project management skills.Excellent time management.Passion for delivering remarkable client experience and success.Proven analytical and creative problem‑solving abilities.Self‑motivated, reliable, and punctual.Ability to multi‑task, pivot, and adapt quickly.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit while using hands to control a computer or other technologies.
