A leading NYC general contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of public sector design-build projects across the five boroughs. This role will work closely with PMs, field teams, and design partners to coordinate fast-paced, compliance-driven construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

Description
- Support Project Managers on design-build public works projects (MTA, SCA, DASNY, etc.)
- Coordinate between architects, engineers, consultants, and field teams
- Track RFIs, submittals, design revisions, and change orders throughout construction
- Assist with scheduling, cost tracking, and procurement of materials
- Review drawings and ensure alignment between design intent and field execution
- Help manage project documentation, logs, and reporting
- Support coordination of inspections, permitting, and agency compliance requirements
- Participate in project meetings, coordination calls, and site walkthroughs
- Assist with project closeout, punch lists, and final documentation
- Identify coordination issues early and help drive resolutions

Profile
A successful Project Engineer should have:
- 1-10 years of experience with a GC or CM (Project Engineer / APM track)
- Experience on design-build or design-assist projects strongly preferred
- Exposure to public sector or agency work in NYC (MTA, SCA, DASNY ideal)
- Strong understanding of construction documents, drawings, and coordination workflows
- Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, and project documentation processes
- Highly organized with strong communication skills across design + field teams
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction software
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
