Project Engineer – Construction
Chico, CA
Salary: $85,000 – $105,000 per year

About the Role
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support a major $18M apartment renovation project in Chico, CA. This is a fully on-site role where you will work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to help drive project success from preconstruction through completion.

Our Project Engineers are known for being among the best in the industry. In this role, you will gain hands-on exposure to every trade and phase of the project, developing a deep understanding of construction operations and project execution.

This position is ideal for someone who is motivated, organized, and willing to put in the work upfront to ensure the project is set up for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with daily project coordination

  • Review and process submittals, RFIs, and subcontractor change orders

  • Assist with project documentation, tracking, and reporting

  • Help manage subcontractors and self-perform craft workers on-site

  • Review construction plans, specifications, and product data

  • Participate in and help lead preconstruction and quality control meetings

  • Ensure project documentation and compliance standards are maintained

  • Support scheduling, cost control, and communication between stakeholders
Qualifications

  • Experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar construction role

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced job site environment

  • Proactive, team-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

  • Construction Management degree or related field is a plus (not required)

  • Experience on multifamily or large-scale renovation projects is beneficial
