Project Engineer at East-West Electric

Start your career building real things. East–West Electric is a Clearwater-based commercial electrical contractor working on projects you can drive past for the rest of your life — marinas, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities across Florida's Gulf Coast. We're hiring a recent graduate who wants to learn the electrical construction business from the ground up. This is a development role designed to grow you into a Project Manager.WHAT YOU'LL LEARNThe technical work — how electrical systems are designed, laid out, and installedProject financials — estimating, budgets, cost tracking, change orders, and what drives profitCodes — the NEC and Florida Building Code, including marina/marine work (Article 555)The contracting industry and the people side — working with crews, GCs, vendors, and clientsWHAT YOU'LL DOSupport our project managers on active jobs, prepare and track submittals and RFIs, visit job sites to see the work performed, help with material takeoffs and ordering, review plans against code, and coordinate with general contractors and inspectors. Regular travel to job sites around Tampa Bay and across Florida (reimbursed).QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (recent grads encouraged)Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and good communicationWillingness to learn to read construction drawingsValid driver's license; able to travel to job sitesA plus: internship/co-op experience, AutoCAD or NEC familiarity, or EIT/PE interestWHY EAST–WEST ELECTRICA clear path to Project Manager, mentorship from an in-house licensed PE (with support toward your own PE), interesting specialized work, direct access to leadership, and life on Florida's Gulf Coast.HOW TO APPLYApply through Handshake or email your resume to CGlass@East-WestElectric.com.
