About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Project Development Manager to oversee the planning and pre-construction activities for new school construction and modernization projects. In this role, you will manage multiple projects from the early planning stages through design and preparation for construction while ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Manage multiple school construction and modernization projects. 
Oversee project scope, budget, schedule, and overall project success. 
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, utility companies, and government agencies. 
Resolve project issues related to planning, design, and construction. 
Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates. 
Review contracts, project costs, and consultant payment applications. 
Support contract planning, bidding, and project procurement. 
Ensure quality control and proper contract administration. 
Work closely with internal departments and school site personnel to keep projects moving smoothly. 
Help develop project procedures and improve internal processes. 
 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management. 
10+ years of experience managing planning, design, and construction of capital projects. 
Strong experience managing project schedules, budgets, and teams. 
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. 
 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with new construction and school modernization projects. 
Knowledge of LEED or CHPS sustainable building standards. 
Experience working with public sector construction projects. 
Familiarity with CEQA, agency approvals, and coordination with city or county agencies. 
Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM). 
Experience with formal construction partnering. 
Strong community engagement and stakeholder management skills. 
 

Preferred Certifications

California Registered Architect or Professional Engineer (PE). 
Certified Construction Manager (CCM). 
LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP).
