ESTIMATOR - DREDGING & MARINE CONSTRUCTION

We are seeking a qualified Estimator to support dredging and marine construction projects by developing accurate and competitive cost estimates, bid packages, and project proposals. Experience with dredging operations, dredge construction projects, marine construction estimating, or heavy civil construction is highly preferred. Please review all qualifications carefully before applying.

Only candidates with relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to demonstrate dredging estimating, marine construction estimating, construction estimating, project engineering, or related industry knowledge will be considered. Candidates must be able to review dredge project plans, specifications, and contract documents; evaluate dredging project costs; and manage multiple priorities while meeting critical bid deadlines.

The Estimator reports directly to the Director of Operations and works closely with the management team, project managers, company leadership, suppliers, subcontractors, engineers, surveyors, and field personnel throughout the dredging project bidding process.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS BEFORE YOU PROCEED

Applications that do not provide sufficient work history, job responsibilities, dredging or construction experience, estimating experience, project experience, and accurate employment dates may be disqualified.

The office location for this position will be in League City, Texas or Port Lavaca, Texas. This is a salaried position scheduled five days a week, with travel required approximately 20% of the time based on dredging project and operational needs.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Estimator will collaborate closely with the management team, project managers, operations personnel, engineers, surveyors, suppliers, subcontractors, and field personnel to validate project scope, production assumptions, dredging equipment requirements, project requirements, and pricing considerations.

Dredging estimating is deadline-driven and requires attention to detail, organization, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting bid deadlines.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As the Estimator, you will develop detailed cost estimates for dredging, marine construction, and heavy civil construction projects. You will review project specifications, engineering drawings, bid documents, dredge production requirements, and contract documents to determine project scope and estimating needs.

You will perform quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, dredging equipment, support equipment, subcontracted work, and marine construction activities using established methods and software tools. You will solicit, evaluate, and incorporate supplier and subcontractor quotations into estimates and prepare bid packages, cost breakdowns, estimate summaries, bid recap reports, and supporting documentation.

You will participate in bid review meetings, analyze production rates, dredge equipment utilization, project logistics, construction approaches, and pricing assumptions, while identifying potential project risks, scope considerations, and estimating impacts.

You may attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, dredging project walkthroughs, coordinate bonding activities, prepare change order pricing, assist with project budgeting after award, and support post-bid or post-project analysis to improve future estimating accuracy.
