Project Cost Analyst - Distribution
Primarily Remote - with travel as needed
About the Role
ExecuPOWER is seeking a Project Cost Analyst to join our growing team supporting Distribution Utility Programs. This role is ideal for a financial professional with strong analytical, reporting, and financial management experience. You'll play a key role in helping support PMO leadership in managing the budget dollars for large programs which includes monthly forecasting, long range planning, estimating, and extracting and analyzing actuals to drive insights, streamline reporting, and enhance project performance visibility across multiple programs. As part of ExecuPOWER's Program Management Office (PMO), you'll collaborate with project management, and engineering teams to support project budgets that support our clients' decision-making and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management & Analysis
- Extract and analyze data from multiple platforms, including OPPM, UIPlanner, Qlikview, and Power BI.
- Consistently track emergent requests for capital funding and reallocation of capital funding
- Recognized and evaluate project actuals to identify overruns/underruns versus budget plan
- Develop weekly/monthly/ ad hoc reports and recommending reporting efficiencies
Reporting & Visualization
- Translate raw data into actionable insights to support leadership and stakeholder decision-making.
- Ensure data integrity and alignment across all PMO systems and tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with internal teams and client stakeholders to validate spend regularly
- Support project management teams by providing timely data analysis, variance tracking, and key performance metrics.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the PMO, focusing on financial transparency and solutions
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, reporting, or project controls-ideally within the utility or infrastructure sectors.
- Proficiency with OPPM, UIPlanner, Qlikview, and Power BI, and related reporting platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a remote environment.
