Job Title: Project Coordinator - Power Reliability ProgramsJob Description

This role supports a major power reliability initiative focused on improving the customer experience by reducing frequent power interruptions and delivering more consistent, high‑quality electric service. You will coordinate field and office activities, support outage and project planning, and apply your technical knowledge to solve practical problems in design, operations, planning, construction, or maintenance of systems and equipment. The position combines project coordination, technical analysis, and field support to help build a more reliable and resilient power system.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate work activities of team members, contractors, vendors, and other external parties to complete routine technical tasks and field work activities efficiently and safely.
  • Perform varied technical assignments that demonstrate sound technical knowledge and use analytical techniques to solve problems or perform detailed analysis.
  • Participate in the planning and organization of outage and project work activities, helping to define scope, schedule, and resource needs.
  • Make informed decisions and actively contribute to team decision making and consensus building to keep projects moving forward.
  • Collaborate with others by supplying accurate information and seeking assistance when needed to resolve issues and improve outcomes.
  • Provide training, guidance, and day‑to‑day support to lower‑level employees as appropriate, helping to build skills and knowledge within the team.
  • Pursue and promote effective ways to protect and enhance the environment while supporting the delivery of reliable electricity at a competitive cost.
  • Use project coordination skills to track progress, manage documentation, and support timely completion of construction and maintenance activities.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools to prepare reports, maintain records, analyze data, and communicate project status to stakeholders.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor"s degree in a related field from an accredited university or college, OR a Technical Associate"s degree and 3 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction, or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience in design, operations, planning, construction, or maintenance of systems and/or equipment (minimum 3 years required when qualifying with a Technical Associate"s degree).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Project coordination experience, including organizing tasks, aligning resources, and supporting project schedules.
  • Experience with construction or field work activities related to systems and equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation, analysis, and communication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor"s degree combined with professional working experience in design, operations, planning, construction, or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.
  • Experience coordinating or supporting power system, utility, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply technical knowledge to solve practical field and office problems.
  • Ability to train and mentor less experienced colleagues and support knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Comfort working with contractors and vendors and coordinating their activities in the field.

Work Environment

This position operates in a hybrid field and office environment supporting a power reliability program focused on reducing outages, momentary interruptions, and voltage sags. The role follows a Monday-Friday schedule, 40 hours per week, with no overnight travel required. Two out of five workdays each week involve traveling to job sites within the Fort Wayne and Muncie district to coordinate and support field activities; expenses for fuel and vehicle rental are submitted for reimbursement according to company guidelines. On non‑field days, the role is based in an office setting located in Fort Wayne, IN or Muncie, IN, where you will use standard office technologies, including Microsoft Office, to manage project documentation, communication, and analysis. The work involves regular interaction with field personnel, contractors, and cross‑functional teams in a collaborative, safety‑conscious environment focused on delivering reliable and environmentally responsible electric service.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
