Duties Description The Project Management Office (PMO) is currently supporting two related modernization projects within the Office of Higher Education (OHE). Once of these projects is for the Office of Teaching Initiatives (OTI), which will modernize the New York Education Department's system for teacher certification processing (TEACH). The other project is for the Office of College and University Evaluation (OCUE), which will replace the manual systems to register academic programs with NYSED with a Software as Service (SaaS), Cloud-based, low-code platform, as there is currently no online system for these registrations. There will be two Project Coordinators, SG-NS (EQ-27) assigned to support these projects, with one serving as the Technical Architect, and one serving as the Lead Analyst. The Project Coordinator serving as the Lead Analyst will be responsible for reporting to the Project Director, and guiding the Project Assistants to define the current processes and future requirements required for each project. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have at least 9 years of experience leading the analysis of modernization efforts*; providing large teams with guidance related to business systems improvement and software implementation. Two years of experience must have been at a supervisory level.

Experience working with NYSED on similar modernization projects.
Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a temporary, competitive appointment. Promotions and transfers may change appointees' negotiating unit. Candidates should be aware that changes in negotiating units may affect their salary, insurance, and other benefits.

This position allows for the opportunity to telecommute up to 30% each bi-weekly pay period and is granted at the discretion of the supervisor and the appointing office.
This position leads to a maximum salary of $131,665 based on annual performance advances. For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts
