Project Controls Analyst

Summary

The Project Controls Analyst is responsible for supporting project planning, scheduling, and cost control activities by maintaining project data, developing and managing project schedules, and producing financial and operational reports. This role ensures project information is accurate, supports regulatory and audit requirements, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain project controls throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules and integrate them into master project schedules.
  • Prepare project reports, including schedule summaries, performance metrics, cash flow analyses, and status updates.
  • Maintain project data systems by assigning budgets, project managers, and related project information.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure project data is accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Provide training and support to project data system users.
  • Maintain financial and document controls to ensure accurate project cost allocation.
  • Support Finance, Tax, Asset Accounting, and other stakeholder groups through effective project controls.
  • Create and maintain project information within the ERP system.
  • Load project estimates and support project closeout activities.
  • Generate project audit reports, closeout documentation, data requests, and ad hoc reports.
  • Participate in system enhancement initiatives, testing, documentation, and monthly project data system meetings.
  • Produce project status reports and verify project data throughout development and construction.
  • Prepare operating reports to track maintenance and operating costs for completed projects.
  • Facilitate project review meetings and update schedules and project data as needed.
  • Support regulatory reporting, variance analysis, internal audits, external audits, and project cost analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in project controls, project scheduling, project planning, or project cost management.
  • Strong experience using Primavera for project scheduling and controls.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and project management information systems.
  • Knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Experience preparing project status reports, audit documentation, and variance analyses.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
