Office of Childrens Services (OCS) is

recruiting for a full-time Project Assistant located in

Juneau, Alaska.

What You Will Be Doing

The Project Assistant provides critical technical assistance and program support to the Office of Children's Services (OCS) staff regarding Provider and Vendor Payment Unit (PVPU) program activities, policies, processes, and service delivery. This position provides internal monitoring and support of the QA desk as well as general development, planning, and evaluation assistance to ensure federal and statewide payment policies and procedures are being followed. In addition, the Project Assistant serves as the primary support to the Social Services Program Coordinator (SSPC) and all their associated tasks and duties. The Project Assistant will support weekly certification, payment processes, and training modules for PVPU and other field staff in conjunction with the SSPC. The Project Assistant will provide follow up responses to fiscal inquiries by leadership and other OCS cohorts in collaboration with the SSPC.

Working Environment You Can Expect

This position is located in the Goldstein Building in beautiful downtown Juneau. We are surrounded by fantastic views of mountains, the Gastineau Channel, and are conveniently located near many restaurants and stores for easy access to lunch and shopping. We are also located near the Downtown Transit Center, if taking the bus is your preferred method of travel.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in

  • Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving: uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one's knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary.
  • Reading Comprehension: Understands and interprets written material, including technical material, rules, regulations, instructions, reports, charts, graphs, or tables; applies what is learned from written material to specific situations

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Training from an accredited college or university in any field and/or experience such as performing research; interpreting data; applying, interpreting, and disseminating technical, statutory, and/or regulatory requirements; and/or experience in community development, research, social services, economics, public administration, planning, or a closely related field.
