Powering Engineered Solutions Through Technical Project Leadership!

MEPPI s Critical Power Solutions Division (CPSD) is seeking an experienced Project Applications Engineer II to manage proposals, technical documentation, customer communications, and project execution for both engineered and standard solutions. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers from proposal development through equipment delivery ensuring technical accuracy, project alignment, and customer satisfaction.


What You ll Do

Develop Customer Proposals: Review RFQ information and collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to prepare comprehensive quotations, including specification compliance, pricing, Bills of Material (BOMs), cost-of-ownership documentation, drawings, scopes of work, and procedures.

Manage Project Execution: Develop, maintain, and monitor project plans detailing goals, schedules, resource allocation, risk identification, and contingency plans to ensure customer commitments are met within budget.

Provide Application Engineering Support: Deliver technical application engineering support to internal teams and external customers, including onsite service support as needed.

Serve as Customer Technical Representative: Independently represent MEPPI in technical meetings, site walkthroughs, seminars, and presentations to promote CPSD products and solutions.

Deliver Technical Training: Independently provide technical training to CPSD sales channel partners and internal stakeholders.

Track & Communicate Project Status: Monitor and communicate project progress, technical requirements, and customer information; ensure proper documentation storage and transfer in accordance with MEPPI s quality system.

Recommend Product Solutions: Identify and recommend appropriate CPSD product applications tailored to customer needs and project requirements.


Prepare Technical Drawings: Create, review, and present electrical, schematic, system, and mechanical drawings.

Develop Technical Communications: Prepare written and verbal materials to describe, explain, and promote CPSD products and engineered solutions.

Manage Risk & Cost Exposure: Work with management and internal departments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate MEPPI risk and exposure related to customer and vendor orders; support cost-control efforts.

Lead Factory Witness Testing: Oversee factory witness tests, create and manage agendas, and serve as the lead customer communication point during testing activities.

Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify cost-improvement opportunities and recommend new product or solution enhancements.


What You Bring

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3 5 years of experience in applications engineering and/or outside technical sales within power quality or power distribution markets
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Technical Expertise:

  • Knowledge of UPS systems, power quality equipment, batteries, and/or UPS and distribution switchgear
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings and engineering documentation

Skills & Attributes:

  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work cross-functionally

Technology Proficiency:

  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office
  • Experience with CAD tools and ERP business systems
