Database Development & Optimization
Develop, tune, and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views to power new application capabilities.
Execute advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies within a high-transaction, business-critical SQL environment.
Support and maintain High Availability (HA) environments utilizing Always On availability groups.
Modernization & Integration
Modernize existing database models and SQL components to support a modular, scalable, microservices-based architecture while maintaining legacy SQL structures.
Partner with .NET Core/C# developers to design efficient data access patterns and seamless API/database integrations.
Build and maintain ETL logic, migration scripts, and integration solutions utilizing SSIS and Databricks.
DevOps, Compliance & Agile Delivery
Deploy SQL updates and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub workflows.
Ensure strict adherence to PCI compliance requirements and implement robust data retention rules.
Actively participate in all Agile/Scrum ceremonies, ensuring work is delivered successfully within established sprint cycles.
Required Experience
10+ Years: Minimum overall IT experience.
7+ Years: SQL Server development experience in enterprise-level environments.
5+ Years: Advanced T-SQL development, including complex query tuning and performance optimization.
5+ Years: Developing in SQL Server on Azure VM (IaaS) environments.
5+ Years: Hands-on experience supporting high availability architectures (Always On availability groups).
5+ Years: Modernizing database code/schemas and supporting legacy SQL workloads in cloud-hosted environments.
5+ Years: Collaborating cross-functionally with .NET Core/C# development teams.
5+ Years: Deploying SQL updates through Azure DevOps and GitHub CI/CD pipelines.
5+ Years: Proven ability to work effectively within Agile/Scrum teams.
Desired / Preferred Experience
5 Years: Building ETL solutions using SSIS and Databricks.
5 Years: Knowledge of PCI compliance standards and database security best practices.
5 Years: Working with microservices architectures and domain-driven design.
5 Years: Designing scaling strategies for high-transaction SQL environments.
3 Years: Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools to support SQL deployments.
