We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Program Therapist to join our team. This position provides behavioral health services through our Diversion Program, working with incarcerated individuals to improve access to mental health treatment, reduce barriers to care, and support successful community reintegration.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services, the Program Therapist provides comprehensive mental health assessments, crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, case coordination, and discharge planning for individuals participating in the Diversion Program. This role works closely with correctional staff, courts, community agencies, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and successful treatment outcomes.

Responsibilities

Clinical Services

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
• Provide crisis intervention, individual counseling, and group therapy.
• Develop treatment plans and provide ongoing therapeutic interventions.
• Complete clinical documentation, progress notes, and required reports in a timely manner.
• Participate in treatment planning, case conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Conduct follow-up assessments and coordinate appropriate levels of care.
• Advocate for clients while promoting recovery and community reintegration.

Diversion & Case Coordination

• Coordinate behavioral health services for incarcerated individuals participating in the Diversion Program.
• Develop discharge and reintegration plans with community providers and re-entry clinicians.
• Coordinate care with correctional staff, medical providers, probation officers, judges, and community agencies.
• Assist with referrals for psychiatric services, substance use treatment, housing, and community resources.
• Maintain an active caseload while tracking client status, release planning, and follow-up services.
• Attend court hearings, staffing meetings, and treatment planning sessions as appropriate.
• Provide recommendations regarding diversion opportunities and community-based treatment options.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate clinical records and statistical reports.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, agency policies, and applicable legal requirements.
• Protect confidential client information while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
• Assist with data collection and program reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or another related behavioral health field.
• Current Texas licensure or associate licensure as one of the following:
  • LCSW
  • LMSW
  • LPC
  • LPC Associate (formerly LPC-Intern)
  • LMFT
  • LMFT Associate
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in behavioral health or psychiatric services.
• Experience providing crisis intervention, assessments, and individual and group therapy.
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience working in correctional, forensic, crisis, inpatient psychiatric, or community behavioral health settings.
• Experience with Trauma-Informed Care and/or Substance Use Disorders.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices, including:
  • Trauma-Informed Care
  • Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR) Model
  • Sequential Intercept Model
  • Criminogenic Needs Assessment
• Knowledge of the criminal justice system and community behavioral health resources.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic health records.
